Use the document's own vocabulary
If the contract says "Termination for Convenience", ask about that phrase rather than "how do I cancel". Retrieval works best when your words match the source text. Skim the table of contents first if you are not sure what terms the document uses.
Check the citations

Know when the document does not have the answer
